Coxsackie?
Evan is not feeling well. Poor guy. He's not been feeling great for the last few days and when he got a blistery rash to go with it, we took him to the doctor. She looked at his hands and said, "He's got Coxsackie virus". What? It just so happens that we live not to far from Coxsackie so, we know how to pronounce it (For those not of the 518, you say "Cuck-sock-ee"). But what is it? He's got a virus that gives you blisters on your hands and feet and in your mouth. Needless to say, he is not a happy camper right now. I am trying my best to help him feel comfortable, but I feel so bad for him. He's usually very easy going and a trooper through hard things, but the last few days he has definitely not been himself. He doesn't want to eat (except for drinkable yogurt) and he cries and is having a hard time sleeping (definitely not Evan's usual, put me to bed now and leave me alone behavior). His beloved sucking thumb is even covered in blisters! Anybody have any suggestions to make him feel comfortable? How about foods that you can eat comfortably with a blister-filled mouth?

Oh no!! Poor Evan and poor Mommy. It's hard to watch when they are miserable.
Micaiah injured the roof of his mouth last year and was on a liquid/soft foods diet for a week. That was rough! We made him a smoothie every day, with peanut butter and every kind of fruit imaginable. That worked. We also bought Campbell's soups that he could drink (cheddar cheese and tomato).
I don't know if that helps at all, but the cold smoothie might give him some relief from the blisters and provide him with protein too.
I am praying for Evan!
Poor little guy!! My heart goes to the two of you as he feels so poorly and you have to find ways to solve his discomfort! Love and miss you TONS!!!
