How much is that toddler in the window?

Both of my boys love to look out the window. They watch the mail man, the UPS guy, the garbage truck, the street cleaner, any neighbor mowing ... or playing or leaf blowing ... Between them and the kids downstairs, not much goes unnoticed on our street. (And neither family can be outside doing anything, no matter how simple, without everyone else knowing). I am SO glad that we are friends with our neighbors!
They also love fruit. Evan's new discovery is "the apple." He will eat it until I take it away, to which he loudly objects. He doesn't care how fuzzy or nasty it gets. He doesn't walk much still, so crawling around with an apple? Yeah, you can imagine. Every little while I take it away (much drama), wash it and return it.

Oh no, You never let go ...

I thought you'd like a little view of the boys musical skills. They LOVE to worship. Evan even claps and sings "Uh nuh, ne ne ne"!

Partay!

Yay! We finally were able to have the boys' birthday party this Saturday. It was lots of fun (as you can see). A lot of their friends were able to come (dressed as their favorite farm animals - Gabe was a rooster). Greg made a barn out of a huge cardboard box to play in and we borrowed some hay from some friends. I made a "barn-shaped cake" (did you know that it takes an entire bottle of red food coloring and some green and yellow drops to make one batch of frosting red?) Thanks to everyone for all their help with everything!

Happy Birthday Gabe!

Happy Birthday to our big 3 year old! We love you!
We've been so blessed by Gabe these past 3 years. He's such a great kid. He has a funny sense of humor and he's very determined to work hard at whatever he's doing. He's getting to know and love Jesus more and more and he loves to learn everything he can about Him.
Yesterday for his birthday, we had a lot of fun. We played his new game, "Hi Ho Cherrio!" had pizza (from the pizza man), made cupcakes, ate cupcakes ... what fun. To top it all off for him, he got to go out for ice cream with Peter and Jess (Peter is one of Gabe's very best friends, despite the age difference of about 20 years!) and when he came home, his friend Caleb was over! What a great day!
Today we are going to the circus. Some friends of ours gave us free tickets to see the show this afternoon! Gabe is really excited.

Happy Birthday, Evan!

Can you believe that our little Evan is already one? I can't believe it. It seems like only a few months ago that we brought him home from the hospital and showed him to Gabe. I can remember his little newborn smell and his distinct baby cry, his little/big hands, and his cute as a button feet!
Now, he's one! He's trying to walk, eating real food, saying distinct sounds, singing during worship at church, singing all the time, complaining when Gabe takes his toys ... We are so blessed by his life. He is such an amazing, special boy. He adds to our family in a really wonderful way. HAPPY BIRTHDAY EVAN!

Laughter ...

Here's a quick little video to make you laugh. Gabriel has discovered that he can make Evan laugh, and Evan thinks that Gabe is hilarious!
