Wordy Wednesday
In the midst of busyness, there are moments that I wish I could just capture ... not that there is anything too exciting about them, but there's a feeling of contentment that goes so deep it surprises me ... you know? I've changed multiple dirty diapers today and given all 3 of the kids baths. Evan is still in the bathtub (and yes, I can see him from here. He's about 15 ft away. The computer is right outside the basement bathroom), playing with those tub crayons we promised him he could use when we got a new house. He's kicking his feet and doing "swishie-swashies" and "fwimmin". Gabe is playing with an assortment of chopsticks and "reading" a book aobut sea creatures (and drumming) and Eden is napping (amazingly ... that girl napped through a compressor and nailgun in her room - yes, she can hear. She woke up, gave my dad a look, and then went back to sleep). The fire is crackling in the woodstove and the fan is gently blowing the warm air over to this side of the basement (over the mound of toys and games that the boys got out). The house is full of noises, but not the kind of noise that is crazy ... it's the kind of peaceful noise I dream of every day. I'm choosing to see the peace and love, not the mess today. (At least for right now ... this afternoon is cleaning time)
Sometimes I get overwhelmed and think, "As soon as such and such a time is over, it'll be more calm" or "when we've finished this project things will slow down and I'll have more time", but things don't slow down. Life is busy. We'll always have another project, meeting or event. The kids will constantly move from stage to stage. I am reminded again today that the more I decide to embrace the moment rather than try to wait it out and long for another time, the better it will be for me.
I've been gone for awhile, and I can't promise too much for the next few days, except that I am trying to bring some routine to this life of ours ... a routine that will hopefully include blogging from time to time!

Okay, so you know I'm busy when I miss blogging about Christmas, New Years ...
Merry Christmas. Happy New Year. And no, the pictures aren't off the camera yet to show. Sorry.
And ... Eden started cereal, Evan is starting to go on the potty and Gabe is doing great at fasting sweets during the week of prayer ... just to keep you informed ;)
